Changes in libido
Digestive symptoms
Joint discomfort
Reduced overall wellbeing

You do not need to experience all these symptoms to apply.

About the research

A rigorous study of perimenopausal wellbeing

Preliminary research suggests probiotics may help with symptoms experienced during the menopausal transition. This study will investigate whether a probiotic called LactoSpore® can improve menopause-related quality of life, including mood, sleep, energy, concentration, vasomotor symptoms, libido, digestion, joint comfort and overall wellbeing.

Blood markers that may be associated with perimenopausal symptoms will also be measured. This is an ethics-approved, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Half of participants will receive LactoSpore® and half will receive placebo capsules.
